We sat down recently and tried to trim the menu……someone had suggested that the menu was a little excessive in choice. After meeting for a couple of hours we realised that yes we’d taken a few things off but simply added some new stuff in its place! The trouble is we enjoy food, our customers enjoy food and therefore we’re just brimming with new ideas to satisfy the tastes of the many hundreds of people who come through our doors each week. Our chefs bring a wealth of experience that spans continents and cooking styles, they employ that experience to produce a fusion of traditional meals and weekly specials.
Our Chef's specials vary from Wild Boar in apricots and red wine (to be honest - not shot in the Derbyshire Shining Cliff woods!) to various Italian and Thai specials such as lamb rump on a massala mash with Thai sauce. Oh and before I forget we do a good range of vegetarian dishes.
2005 - 2007 saw the Bear winning the good pub food award. Here’s to a few more.
