Our concern over the environment has caused us to look at how and from where we source our food. We at The Bear buy locally produced beef, lamb and pork from our butcher Richard Taylor (Owen Taylor) at Leasbrook just across the valley.

Although we can't promise that every item we serve hasn't seen the inside of a cargo plane we can promise that where possible the bulk of our ingredients are all locally sourced.

Our concern over quality means that we insist on the best from our suppliers and some would call us choosey!! Real Derbyshire really does mean local produce from Wirksworth vegetables to Chatsworth ice cream and Thornbridge Ales (Ashford in the Water).
